One of the pillars of PPAI’s new Strategic Plan is to strengthen community by uniting the marketplace through shared purpose, leadership development and deeper connections.

One of the initiatives outlined in the plan is to expand volunteer and regional association support. With that in mind, PPAI Media will be sharing quarterly updates on what its committees have accomplished and what they’re currently working on.

Leadership Advisory Committee

The Leadership Advisory Committee plays a critical role in strengthening the future leadership of PPAI by identifying, vetting and cultivating qualified industry professionals to serve on the Board of Directors.

The committee is responsible for presenting a strong and balanced slate of candidates to the Nominating Committee each year, ensuring continued leadership excellence and industry representation.

In 2026, LAC members dedicated significant time and focus – particularly from January through June – to evaluating board candidates. Through weekly collaboration, in-depth application reviews and thoughtful discussions, the group worked diligently to ensure each nominee reflects the leadership qualities and strategic mindset needed to guide the Association forward.

Awards & Recognition Action Group

The Awards & Recognition Action Group is committed to engaging members by enhancing the relevance, prestige and overall experience of the industry’s most recognized awards.

Through its advisory role, the group provides key insights and recommendations to strengthen PPAI’s awards programs and ensure they continue to reflect the evolving needs of the industry. 

In 2026, the group launched a comprehensive evaluation of the Pyramid Awards program, focused on increasing its value to members. This work includes reviewing award categories, refining the overall experience and exploring opportunities to align the program more closely with PPAI’s strategic pillars: member success, strengthening community and elevating the industry.

With a focus on modernization and impact, the Action Group is helping shape a more meaningful and rewarding recognition experience, ensuring the Pyramid Awards continue to grow in credibility, visibility and value for the branded merchandise industry.
