The PPAI Expo 2027

Sustainability at The PPAI Expo: Small Actions. Big Impact.

From reducing waste on the show floor to supporting recycling and resource conservation behind the scenes, sustainability is a team effort. Whether you're attending, exhibiting or making travel choices before you arrive, every action adds up.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

  • Choose direct flights whenever possible and consider flight options with lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
  • Pack efficiently to reduce excess luggage weight. Less weight on planes means less fuel used.

WHILE YOU'RE AT EXPO

  •  Bring and use a reusable water bottle or pick one up at the PPAI booth (while suppliers last). Complimentary refill stations will be available throughout the convention center.
  • Recycle your lanyard by placing it in collection bins located throughout the show floor.
  • If you're using the FedEx Ship Station, optimize package space and choose ground shipping when possible to reduce GHG emissions.

AROUND LAS VEGAS

  • Use public transportation, walk or share rides whenever possible.
  • PPAI provides shuttles from Excalibur and Luxor to Mandalay Bay Convention Center for Expo attendees and exhibitors. View the shuttle schedule.
  • Turn off lights and reduce air conditioning when you leave your hotel room.
  • Skip daily housekeeping by using the Do Not Disturb sign to help conserve water and energy.
  • Support local restaurants and businesses that prioritize responsible sourcing and sustainable practices.

EXHIBITORS: YOUR BOOTH CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

In addition to the actions above, exhibitors have a unique opportunity to reduce waste and conserve resources through thoughtful booth design, shipping and onsite operations.

BOOTH DESIGN & MATERIALS

  • Incorporate reusable, recycled or recyclable booth materials whenever possible.
  • Replace printed collateral with digital brochures, catalogs and QR codes.
  • If printing is necessary, consider recycled or FSC-certified paper.
  • Use local or regional booth staff when practical to help reduce travel-related emissions.

SHIPPING & LOGISTICS

  • Consolidate shipments and reuse shipping containers and packing materials.
  • Plan ahead to avoid expedited shipping whenever possible.
  • Choose ground shipping over air freight when timelines allow.
  • Reduce single-use packaging, including foam, Styrofoam and excess plastic.

ONSITE PRACTICES

  • Consider energy-efficient equipment and booth accessories when power is required.
  • Work with Mandalay Bay’s recycling and donation programs to help divert booth materials from landfills whenever possible.

WHAT PPAI IS DOING

We're continually looking for ways to reduce waste and improve sustainability throughout the Expo experience.

MORE SUSTAINBLE REGISTRATION

  • Badges are printed onsite, helping reduce waste from unused preprinted materials.
  • Plastic badge holders have been eliminated from the registration process.

WATER REFILL STATIONS

Free water stations throughout the venue encourage the use of reusable bottles and help reduce reliance on single-use plastics.

ENHANCED WASTE DIVERSION

Working with Mandalay Bay and venue partners, materials generated during the event are sorted and evaluated for recycling, composting, repurposing or other diversion opportunities whenever possible.

Even materials such as plastic wrap commonly used in exhibitor shipments can be collected and repurposed through venue sustainability programs.

WHAT OUR VENDOR PARTNERS ARE DOING

FREEMAN INITIATIVES

Freeman continues to expand sustainability initiatives focused on responsible material use, waste reduction, recycling programs and more sustainable event logistics.

MGM RESORTS INTERNATIONAL

Mandalay Bay continues to invest in sustainability initiatives across its operations, including:

  • Renewable energy sources that help power resort operations.
  • Water conservation and recycling programs.
  • Energy-efficient lighting, heating and cooling systems.
  • Industry-recognized sustainability certifications and environmental programs.

SUSTAINABILITY IS A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

Meaningful impact often starts with small actions taken consistently by thousands of people.

By making thoughtful choices before, during and after Expo, we can work together to reduce waste, conserve resources and help create a more sustainable future for our industry.

Thank you for doing your part. We look forward to seeing you at The PPAI Expo 2027!
