Iowa City, Iowa-based supplier Tru Art Advertising Calendars (PPAI 113720, Silver) has announced the acquisition of M Line Calendars (PPAI 113682), a Coshocton, Ohio-based supplier whose history of producing advertising specialties dates to 1901.

The acquisition supports Tru Art Advertising Calendars’ continued growth and investment in American manufacturing, while maintaining strong relationships with distributors and business partners nationwide, the firm says.

  • Tru Art has been serving distributors since 1896.

“We see this as an opportunity to honor a remarkable history while investing in what comes next,” says David Bywater, MAS, president of Tru Art Advertising Calendars. “This acquisition strengthens our business, preserves industry knowledge and reinforces our commitment to quality manufacturing.”

Over A Century Of Manufacturing

M Line Calendars, which began manufacturing commercial calendars in 1952, originated from The Meek and Beach Company, founded in 1901 and a PPAI member since 1903.

  • The company manufactured metal signs, leather goods and a complete line of advertising novelties, according to the M Line Calendars website.
  • The Beach Company has ceased operations as of January.

“We’ve worked with many distributors large and small, and we appreciate the opportunity to serve each and every one of them,” says Jamie M. Beach, fifth-generation leader of The Beach Company. “The distributors in this industry gave us the opportunity to do the work we love to do for five generations over 73 years.”
