Last October, PPAI Media was invited to join members of buying group Reciprocity Road and non-profit industry philanthropy PromoCares on a trip to Mexico City for the installation of a Planet Water Foundation aqua tower, providing clean drinking water to a rural elementary school.

The trip produced meaningful memories for the attendees and is an example of the impact industry pros have when combining forces for a greater purpose.
For the content team in attendance, it was something more: the first on-location filming for PPAI Media’s latest ongoing project to tell the industry’s story.
The result is “Merch Matters,” a PPAI docuseries aimed at the end buyers of merch: brand and ad agencies, marketers, HR pros and purchasing decision-makers in organizations of every size. With each episode – targeted for a quarterly release schedule – the series will examine the best of our medium, from merch’s ability to power lasting connections to why and how elevated products are essential to every brand.
Produced with sponsorship support from Reciprocity Road, the debut episode is meant to humanize our industry’s physical medium. As PPAI Media playback+ host Stacy Rogers says of merch in her narration, “These are more than commodities. They are statements about the company that purchases and uses them: your values. These are things. But they’re made by people, for people – people who care, people who give.
“These people – them, you – they’re why merch isn’t just matter. They’re why merch matters.”
PPAI members interested in supporting future episodes of Merch Matters are encouraged to contact your account manager.
The ultimate goal of each new episode, tracing PPAI’s updated mission, is to elevate the industry. Filming has concluded for upcoming summer and fall episodes, and production is underway. In time, the series is intended to be housed on a new, in-progress PPAI Media online content hub for end user audiences. It will also be amplified as part of social media campaigns to enhance the recognition and value of PPAI members and their branded creations.
Along with the industry insider cut shown above, PPAI Media has created a white label, buyer-friendly version of the first episode for members to share across content channels.
