Proforma's CRO Recognized As '40 Under 40' By 'Tampa Bay Business Journal'

Proforma (PPAI 196835, Platinum) announced that Chief Revenue Officer Brian Roney has been named to the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2026 40 Under 40 class, which recognizes professionals under age 40 for their contributions to business growth and community impact. Roney said he was honored by the recognition, noting, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a talented and inspiring community.”

As CRO, Roney oversees financial initiatives aimed at supporting Proforma’s distributor network. The company credited him with helping advance ProStores, its e-commerce platform, which surpassed 2 million transactions earlier this year. He also contributed to the financial modeling behind Proforma’s acquisition of Safeguard from Deluxe, a publicly traded company.

Beyond his business responsibilities, Roney has led community-focused initiatives, including the creation of Proforma’s annual Proform-A-Service Day, which gives employees paid time to volunteer with charitable organizations. He is also active in local civic groups and youth sports. The Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2026 40 Under 40 honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony on Oct. 22 and in the publication’s print and online editions.

Goldstar, PromoLink Collaborate On Automated Purchase & Order Tracking System

PromoLink and Goldstar (PPAI 114031, Platinum) have announced a partnership that integrates Goldstar’s product catalog, pricing and live inventory data into the PromoLink platform, giving distributors a connected way to place and manage orders. Through PromoStandards integration, distributors can access real-time information, submit purchase orders and track order status from within PromoLink, with the goal of streamlining workflows and reducing manual processes.

According to the companies, the integration provides distributors with access to current product and inventory data, automated order submission and order tracking in a single system. The partnership is intended to reduce errors associated with manual order entry, improve turnaround times and extend Goldstar’s Simplicity approach beyond product selection into the ordering and fulfillment process.

“Goldstar built its reputation on making business easy, and this partnership extends that simplicity into how distributors actually place and track their orders,” says Robert Guler, president of PromoLink. Heather Smartt, global head of Goldstar, added that the integration offers distributors who prefer a digital workflow “another way to work with us, without changing what they already love about doing business with Goldstar.” The companies said they plan to continue expanding the integration as industry needs evolve.

Starline Announces Retirement Of Longtime Southwest Rep, Hiring Of Successor

Starline USA (PPAI 112719, Platinum) announced the retirement of Kim Reinecker, who has represented the company in the Southwest territory for the past 16 years and will retire at the end of September. Reinecker is concluding a 40-year career as a supplier representative in the branded merch industry. Reflecting on her career, she said, “The success I enjoyed throughout my career was only possible because of the trust of my customers, the support of my colleagues and the friendships I developed along the way. I am truly blessed to have spent the last 16 years representing Starline and could not think of a better company to end my industry career with.”

The company has named Clay Bridges as Reinecker’s successor in Texas. Bridges brings nearly 25 years of industry experience, most recently on the distributor side, and has recently relocated to Texas. He will assume responsibility for the territory following Reinecker’s retirement.

commonsku Platform Releases Include Client Catalog And Custom Endpoints

commonsku (PPAI 552077) has launched two new platform features: Client Catalog and Custom Endpoints. Client Catalog is designed to help distributors manage client-specific inventory programs by tracking standing inventory SKUs, monitoring stock levels and handling reorders through existing project and production workflows. Custom Endpoints expands commonsku’s API capabilities, allowing distributors and technology partners to connect commonsku with external product information management (PIM) systems, synchronize product data, and access product information through documented APIs rather than manual exports.

The launches cap a quarter of product updates that included AI-powered mockup generation and product description rewriting, automated bill creation for electronic purchase orders (ePOs), expanded supplier participation in the Connected+ network, and enhanced billing and financial controls. Additional updates include Shopify integration, which enables distributors to push products directly into Shopify stores and a partnership with Nicole McNamee Consulting to provide promotional products companies with fractional sales and operations leadership support.

commonsku also added suppliers Shepenco and iClick to its Connected+ network, bringing the total number of participating suppliers to 16 and expanding access to live inventory, pricing, shipment notifications and trackable decorated ePOs. The company said Client Catalog and Custom Endpoints are available immediately to customers. commonsku provides CRM, order management and collaboration tools for the promotional products industry and reports that its platform is used by more than 950 distributors representing $1.9 billion in network volume.
