The recent terrorist attacks in Israel hit close to home for many in the promotional products industry.

Some colleagues have found themselves near harm’s way, and many others have family members and friends in Israel left to pick up the pieces following unconscionable violence perpetrated by Hamas. Countless more industry professionals are praying for peace and healing.

Maya Erenberg of CorporateGift.com (PPAI 754399, D2) coordinated with the teen leadership at her local Jewish Community Center to organize care packages for a foundation in Southern Israel that supports teens at risk. CorporateGift.com donated some of its own promo gifts and bought items to donate in the packages. In addition, suppliers Jornik and Elemental Bottles generously donated to Erenberg’s mission. The result was over 600 goody bags and letters. 

 

Erenberg is an Israeli living in the United States. Her partner, as well as various employees and family members are currently living in Israel.

Gemline

Gemline, PPAI 100’s No. 5 supplier, has announced donations to humanitarian organizations committed to helping the many civilians impacted by the terrorist attacks and ongoing conflicts in Israel. 

“Many people, myself included, have been deeply shaken and disturbed by the violence that has erupted in Israel,” says Jonathan Isaacson, executive chair of Gemline. “It’s hard to make sense of what’s happening because it’s impossible to make sense of the senseless. No matter where one lives, no child’s reality should be one in which rockets are a normal state of affairs. No family should be subject to the kind of violence and cruelty that we have seen over the past days.”

With many looking for where they can turn to provide some form of help for all those affected, Gemline has identified three humanitarian organizations that provide universal trauma care and/or counseling. 

“Both will, unfortunately, be needed in the upcoming days and months,” says Isaacson. 

Gemline will be donating $75,000 to these humanitarian organizations. They include:

  • Natal: The Israel Trauma and Resiliency Center. The organization is providing psychologists, field workers and social workers wherever they are needed.
  • IsraAid: Disaster relief and emergency response.
  • United Hatzalah: Rapid urgent medical response. Free, universal community-based emergency medical service professionals.

“We stand with Israel and the many innocent casualties on all sides of this ongoing war – and hope for peace,” says Isaacson. “We support the members of our community who are impacted by the violence that continues to unfold.” 

Hirsch

PPAI 100’s No. 12 supplier, Houston-based Hirsch (PPAI 221823, S10) has announced that it “stands unwaveringly with Israel” and made donations of support to Friends of the IDF and American Friends of Magen David Adom.


Advertising Specialty Institute

Pennsylvania-based business services firm Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI) has announced that, in conjunction with the family of its chairman, Norman Cohn, it will offer matching donations for contributions to organizations helping the victims of violence in Israel.

For every $2 donated, ASI and the Cohn family will donate $1. Qualifying donations must be made to either of two organizations:

  • United Hatzalah, an organization provided urgent, free medical aid
  • IsraAID, an international humanitarian aid organization

Contributions should be made directly to one of the organizations, with receipts sent to ASI President and CEO Tim Andrews (tim.andrews@asicentral.com). ASI will match up to $50,000 in donations.
