PPA® President and CEO Paul Bellantone, CAE, has been selected as the chair-elect of the Small Business Legislative Council (SBLC). Bellantone’s term as chair will begin in 2020.
“I am very proud to represent the promotional products industry as incoming chair-elect of the Small Business Legislative Council,” says Bellantone. “As chair-elect, I look forward to helping support its priorities in 2019, which include working with Congress and the relevant agencies to solve the labor shortage crisis for small businesses, to make tax reform work for small business, to improve our nation’s infrastructure, rural development and trade opportunities, and to bring stability and affordability to our health care system.”
The SBLC is a 43-year-old permanent, independent coalition of trade and professional associations that share a common commitment to the future of small business. Its members represent the interests of small businesses in such diverse economic sectors as manufacturing, retail, distribution, professional and technical services, construction, transportation and agriculture. The SBLC is focused on the small-business community; the issues on which the Council acts are those that affect all small businesses including taxes, liability insurance, budget, antitrust enforcement, employment issues, government procurement, environment, establishment of a small-business voice in Washington, venture capital and other small-business financing mechanisms.
Bellantone has served on the SBLC board for several years. He was also the 2018 Chair of the Board for the not-for-profit Incentive Federation Inc. and is currently serving as its as fourth vice chair of associations.
