The Ohio Promotional Professionals Association (OPPA) has inducted two industry professionals into its Hall of Fame—Patricia Gaines, MAS, founder and president of The PAGI CORPORATION, and Jeff Shaw, national sales director, proprietary lines, at HALO Branded Solutions.
OPPA’s Hall of Fame recognizes the efforts and dedication of individual volunteers who have shared their enthusiasm, professionalism, time, knowledge, vision and efforts to advance their industry and their association.
Gaines served on the OPPA board of directors and was president in 1986. In a statement on Gaines’ accomplishments that led to her induction, the regional association notes, “Her tireless efforts to nurture OPPA in its beginning years helped to stabilize the association for future members. She not only pursued quality education and demonstrated the value of education to its members, she donated her company services and funds to produce the OPPA, then SANNO, newsletter to keep its members informed. OPPA truly appreciates Ms. Gaines’s continued belief in the value of the association and education of our members.”
Shaw also served on the OPPA board of directors and was its president in 2014. He is credited with leading the association to two silver PPAI Pyramid Awards, the strategic plan for regional associations to work together to create The TOM Show and the strategic plan to think differently about trade shows and create venues that would build relationships between suppliers and distributors to increase sales. In a statement, the association says, “Mr. Shaw’s volunteerism and his ability to work with OPPA’s volunteers has benefited the growth and professionalism for all its members.”
