Arthur Bartell, group president of Denver, Colorado, distributor Brand Agents, Inc. (PPAI 268947), passed away January 11. He was 85.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and a graduate of the University of Georgia, Bartell spent six decades in the promotional products industry. His work was widely recognized as well. He won 13 Clio Awards, 24 PPAI Pyramids and a national Addy Award from the Advertising Federation of the United States during his career. And in 2012, he provided the promotional products for the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants.
Bartell served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and prior to beginning his advertising career performed in several Broadway shows. He was passionate about animals and was known to regularly feed squirrels, rabbits and birds.
He is survived by his sons, Danny and Stephen Bartell and their wives, Carla and Irina, respectively; five grandchildren: Nathan, Jordan, Nina, Zaria and Milana; his sister, Ethel Marx and many friends both within and outside the advertising industry.
Funeral services will be held Friday at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. A celebration of his life will follow at 125 Kalorama Street in Denver from 2-5 pm.
