Lewiston, Maine-headquartered distributor Geiger (PPAI 105182) continues its European expansion with a new location in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The new logistics office was recently opened by Geiger’s UK-based company, GeigerBTC, as part of the company’s overall strategic plan for supporting its global customers.

Strategically located for international commerce, the logistics office acts as a hub for deliveries throughout Europe and the Middle East. In addition to serving as a central point of customs clearance, the new office provides kitting, fulfillment and distribution center services to streamline global shipping and logistics. Its location, positioned firmly within the European Union, also simplifies value-added tax (VAT) calculations for European Union customers outside the UK.

Frank Murphy, managing director of GeigerBTC, says, “Having our own distribution center and office in Rotterdam enables us to further improve our services for our many clients with operations in EMEA [Europe, the Middle East and Asia]. This also protects us and our clients from any potential consequences of Brexit.”

Jo-an Lantz, MAS, president and CEO of Geiger, adds, “Clients are demanding global services for their merchandising programs, with local marketing support. The ability to provide a global supply chain is critical and the new Rotterdam location supports our international strategy.”

Geiger expansion into Europe has been marked by several acquisitions across the Atlantic. The UK’s BTC Group merged with the company in March 2018, forming GeigerBTC in the UK, and since then Geiger’s European operations have expanded with the acquisitions of London-based EMC Advertising Gifts in January and York-based Response Marketing in May.
