RUPT Introduces 1-Piece Minimum Custom Cut & Sew OrdersRUPT (PPAI 826757, Silver), PPAI 100’s No. 60 supplier, has announced its latest product launch, which stems directly from extensive conversations with distributors, including focus groups and feedback sessions designed to identify unmet client needs and market opportunities. The company said it prioritizes solving customer challenges over simply adding more products to its catalog, arguing that an abundance of new SKUs does not necessarily help distributors win business. Instead, RUPT’s goal is to develop tools and solutions that help its customers achieve stronger results with their clients.
According to RUPT, distributors repeatedly expressed a need for truly custom apparel programs without large minimum order requirements, while also seeking to avoid common challenges such as inventory commitments, size forecasting, excess stock and uncertainty around consumer demand. In response, the company spent nearly a year developing a custom cut-and-sew program for outerwear and footwear that offers one-piece minimums and worldwide shipping capabilities.
“We’re not decorating inventory on demand,” says Jason Lucash, CEO of RUPT. “We’re actually making the product on demand.”
RUPT said the program differs from traditional print-on-demand models because products are manufactured only after an order is placed. Each item is individually printed, cut, sewn and shipped based on the customer’s specifications, allowing distributors to launch programs before committing to inventory. The company said the approach can help reduce inventory risk and potentially decrease waste while reflecting a broader philosophy of customer-driven product development.
