Credit professionals came together to explore industry-specific information on mutual customers, exchange best practices and network during the National Promotional Products Credit Group’s semi-annual meeting held during The PPAI Expo 2016.

Marc Simon of HALO Branded Solutions provided meeting attendees with an update on the Newton Manufacturing acquisition. He explained the Newton supplier recovery program, which HALO voluntarily instituted to help Newton’s suppliers mitigate some of their losses from the company’s bankruptcy.

Mark Borofsky of Core Strategies presented an interactive educational program entitled “Best Credit Practices in the 21st Century.” The presentation challenged attendees to look at their current methods of handling credit and collections to identify opportunities to automate processes. Borofsky also encouraged the credit professionals to lead rather than manage, and to make credit decisions that meet the needs of their company as a whole in lieu of focusing solely on departmental goals.

Credit professionals who attended the meeting represented a variety of industry suppliers, including Aztex Enterprises; Bag Makers, Inc.; BIC Graphic; Cutter & Buck; Dunbrooke; Edwards Garments Co.; Gempire; Gill Studios, Inc.; Holloway Group, Inc.; LeedsWorld, Inc.; Maple Ridge Farms; Paramount Apparel International; Pioneer Balloon Co.; SanMar Corp; Snugz USA; The Premium Line; and Warwick Publishing Co.
