Robert “Bob” Mogell, founder of industry supplier Toppers, Inc., passed away on January 12 at his home in Voorhees, New Jersey.

Mogell founded Toppers in 1964 and served as its president until 1999, when it was sold upon his retirement. Toppers had grown to be one of the largest family-owned suppliers in the promotional products industry.

Outside of the industry, he was the former president of the Cherry Hill Brith Shalom Lodge #966. Following his retirement, Mogell split his time between New Jersey and Florida. An avid athlete, he played basketball most of his life and later took up golf, joining the Woodcrest Country Club in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and the Renaissance Country Club in Florida.

Mogell is survived by his wife Lynne; his children—Sy, Victor and his wife Tiffany, Russell and his wife Mary Anne, and Esther Swartz and her husband Mark—his brother Cary and his wife Maryann; his grandchildren, Makayla, David, Kyle, Jack, Grace, Hanna and Gabriel; as well as an aunt, many cousins and friends.

Services for Mogell were held at Platt Memorial Chapels in Cherry Hill, an internment at the Montefiore Cemetery in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Contributions in his name can be made to the American Kidney Foundation or The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society.
