Has there been a moment that made you realize you wanted to stay in the promotional products industry to make your career?

I knew I was wanting to stay in the promotional product industry, honestly, automatically when I first joined. My first show that I did, I saw how close and tight-knit the community was already, just from that one show. And I just knew from there that everyone really wanted everyone else to succeed.

What excites you about your day-to-day?

What excites me in my job is meeting new people everywhere I go – and also just seeing the consistent faces and seeing everyone and following along with how they grow in their positions.

How has a career in promo allowed you to grow as a professional?

I would say how I’ve grown is on the soft skill side, gaining more confidence and also in trusting what my thoughts and opinions are. Sometimes I second-guess that, but I think a lot of the community here has reaffirmed me to really be confident in my opinions and what I think would work best.

What secrets to networking have you picked up?

There’s really not a secret to great networking. It’s just taking advantage of your community that you’re currently in. Everyone’s really open, so not being afraid to ask questions would be my No. 1 thing.

Any tricks to grow confidence that you might share?

The way I help myself work on my confidence is accepting compliments from other people. At one time, I would always kind of shy away or humble myself with the compliment, but now I take the compliment as is and not shy away from that.
