Other than Rising Stars, what has been the proudest moment of your career?
There’s a couple. The one that I will say, specifically in the industry, was being asked to speak at The PPAI Expo 2025. I also spoke at LDC last year, which was also kind of a steppingstone for that. But The PPAI Expo felt like a big one for me. It felt like I was being asked to join with the big dogs. The idea that there were people taking advice from me felt a little bit surreal, and it opened a lot of doors and made a lot of introductions that I’m really glad that I have now.
How does being willing to try new things and put yourself out there in different ways contribute to success?
I’ve just recently switched to outside sales. I was inside sales before, and I did a lot of the internal kind of behind-the-scenes stuff. Switching to outside sales has been a big push of going out of my comfort zone, but I do believe doing things like speaking at events has helped me grow in my confidence – now if I have to make a cold call, what’s the worst that happens? I stood up in front of a bunch of my peers and talked. So if I can do that, I can call this random person, because what’s the worst that happens? They say no?
What’s the biggest challenge of working in a family company as the second generation?
The hardest one for me, and I think it’s more in my head than it is actually a thing, but I am so concerned that people think that I have what I have because I’m [the founder’s] kid and not because I have worked really hard to get what I have. There are times that I do truly believe that I have to work twice as hard as some of the other people to earn a title or earn a promotion, because I feel like I need to prove that this is obvious.
