Midnite Snax
Custom popcorn flavors from Midnite Snax® tempt the tastebuds.
Light as air and tough to resist, freshly popped popcorn is tantalizing in aroma and taste. Midnite Snax® trades on these sensations with its custom-flavored popcorn, popped and coated or drizzled with up to 75 standard flavors, including classics such as cheddar and caramel, and unique flavors such as sriracha and peanut butter cup, plus custom varieties as well.
“We are proud to say that we are one of, if not the only, true manufacturer of fresh, delectable popcorn flavors in the promotional products industry,” says David Katz, executive vice president of the Bethpage, New York, supplier. “Our popcorn items are the most popular, so I would say we have mastered that process; 10 to 15 percent of our orders are for custom projects.”
In addition to the more than 50,000 pounds of popcorn that the company produces annually, Katz says clients love the company’s s’mores kits and mint tins. Midnite Snax also produces much of its own corrugated packaging and artwork.
As an SQF Level 2 Certified facility, says Katz, all Midnite Snax employees undergo specialized training and certification on the procedures and regulations set forth by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI).
“We cannot hire anyone who does not complete that program successfully on-site and maintain a record of continuing education,” says Katz. “Our machinists and mechanics are highly trained at their craft and receive ongoing continuing education, as well.”
Midnite Snax’s automated production capabilities allow the supplier to pop thousands of pounds of flavored popcorn per hour—and what’s amazing, says Katz, is that the process goes from kernel to bag without ever being touched by human hands.
“Our state-of-the-art, patent-pending technology pops the kernels, sorts the popcorn from the unpopped kernels, adds flavors (either coated or drizzled), then separates them, and weighs and bags the popcorn.”
