Irving Kannett, a war veteran, beloved family man and longtime member of the promotional products community, died at the age of 101.

A lifelong Chicago resident, Kannett was married to his late wife, Joanne, for 71 years. Irving and Joanne met after his time in the U.S. Army, in which he was a highly decorated WWII veteran, Bronze Star recipient and Master Sergeant with the 96th Infantry Division, which demanded great sacrifice of its members during the war.

After his service, Kannett started Irving Kannett & Associates, a distributor in the promotional products industry. Kannett worked for his company until he was 93 years old.

A father of two (Mark and Jeffrey) and a grandfather to five, Kannett was “GG” to his two great-grandchildren.

“Irv was a treasured friend to all he worked with as well as a dedicated family man who will be dearly missed,” says his obituary.
