You may be familiar with the Law of Attraction and the Law of Cause and Effect. These are just two of the seven universal laws that influence everything we do. Leaders who understand how to leverage these universal laws can create maximum impact in their organizations. Since the actions you take create a ripple effect, you can positively or negatively impact others.

1. The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy. Since everything is energy and constantly changing, nothing is as it seems. Leaders must constantly contend with change. Rather than fear this change, leaders should embrace it.

2. The Law of Vibration and Attraction. Everything is energy that constantly vibrates and moves. When you focus on a specific thought or idea, Felton says you attract its vibrational match. Leaders can leverage this law by focusing on what they want instead of what they don’t want.

3. The Law of Polarity. There’s an equal and exact opposite for everything. Consider it the yin and yang. Leaders can take comfort in this during challenging times because they know that the situation will eventually improve.

4. The Law of Rhythm. Everything in the world has a natural rhythm to it, from the rising of the sun to the ebb and flow of the ocean. Even your heartbeat has a natural rhythm to it. However, leaders often try to defy this law by working tirelessly day in and day out, elevating their stress levels and never pausing to rest and recuperate. Without a rhythm, the body can’t sustain life.

5. The Law of Relativity. People love to compare themselves to others. Business leaders compare performance to the previous year. We benchmark our performance against our peers. However, everything is relative based on past experiences and personal values.

6. The Law of Cause and Effect. You might remember from physics class that for every cause there is an effect, and for every effect there is a cause. The best leaders appreciate that what they sow, they reap. They know that when they treat others with kindness and respect, it will come back to them.

7. The Law of Gestation. Everything takes time to manifest. Leaders recognize that a gestation period exists for new ideas and that there is a correct time and place for everything to happen. Many business owners give up too early before the gestation period is complete, which is like uprooting bulbs in a garden before the flowers have bloomed.

The seven universal laws are always in motion, whether you notice them or not. Don’t try to circumvent them but strive to become more aware of them. Think of one area of your business or life you’d like to change and take a step to change it. Become more aware of your habitual thoughts and if they’re not serving you well, change them. By recognizing these universal laws and applying them to your life rather than resisting them, you can maximize your success.
