Due to an ongoing chemical leak emergency in Orange County, California, the Garden Grove facility of Evans Manufacturing (PPAI 110747) remains temporarily evacuated to ensure the safety of employees and visitors, PPAI Media has learned.
- Evans is a division of HPG (PPAI 110772, Platinum), PPAI 100’s No. 7 supplier.
“As a result, response times may be delayed while our local team works remotely and awaits updates from local officials assessing the situation,” Evans said in a statement.
However, Evans’ Nogales, Mexico-based production facility remains unaffected, with previously processed orders shipping as scheduled. Distributors can check order status by using the Order Status Portal available on the Evans website.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. We will continue to monitor emails and respond as quickly as possible with support from the broader HPG team. We will provide updates as more information becomes available and look forward to resuming normal operations soon,” Evans said in a statement.
Potential Explosion
On Thursday, residents of Garden Grove were ordered to evacuate their homes after a damaged tank containing a hazardous chemical in Southern California overheated, The Associated Press reported.

Emergency officials lifted the evacuation order on Monday for roughly 34,000 residents after temperatures inside the tank fell enough to eliminate the risk of a catastrophic explosion.
“It’s not over yet. We still have work to do,” TJ McGovern, interim fire chief of the Orange County Fire Authority, said during a press conference. “We still have to mitigate a fire and very small explosion concern, and also a spill potential.”
PPAI Media is waiting to hear back from other members in the area for updates on their business operations.
