Storm Creek (PPAI 438091, S6), headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota, has donated $7,500 to support the hungry through Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund. ASI has agreed to match the supplier’s donations dollar-for-dollar through the #ASIcares Fund Drive for a total contribution of $15,000, once the fund drive ends on July 6.
The funds will go to support overrun food banks and pantries struggling to keep up with demand during the coronavirus pandemic. According to Feeding America, more than 41 million Americans are currently unemployed. It reports that more than 54 million people nationwide, including 18 million children, may experience food insecurity because of COVID-19. It only takes $1 to buy 10 meals for those in need, the organization says.
Storm Creek CEO Teresa Fudenberg says, “The impact of COVID-19 on hunger was sudden and astronomical. Right away, we were compelled to help. We leaned on our Wear For Better mission, whereby we utilize apparel sales to drive dollars back into our communities.”
Storm Creek raised the funds through its Work from Home Collection, launched in March 2020, pledging 10 percent of sales from the collection to Feeding America. The collection is comprised of apparel ideal for those working from home or essential workers on the front lines of COVID-19.
ASI’s matching fund drive began on May 15, as a way for suppliers, distributors and decorators in the promotional products industry to support those most vulnerable during the pandemic. By partnering with ASI, it allowed Storm Creek the potential to double its reach and impact.
“Giving back to the community is at the heart of Storm Creek, and woven into everything we do,” Fudenberg adds. “We are proud to still keep our mission of giving at the forefront amidst these challenging times. A huge thanks to the ASI organization for partnering with us. Together, our dollars will provide 150,000 meals to those who need them most.”
