Ros Plummer, MAS

Rosalind (Ros) Fraser Plummer, MAS, vice president of supplier Clearmount Plastics Limited in Toronto, Canada, passed away on April 15. She was 58.

Plummer was born in Scotland and emigrated with her family to Canada as a child. She and her husband, David, purchased Clearmount in 1989 and together built a successful family business with a dedicated team of employees. Plummer oversaw operations, human resources and marketing for the company and welcomed their daughter, Kate, to the business in 2007.

Plummer was a dedicated and active leader within the promotional products industry in Canada and the United States. Always supportive of continuing education, she served for two years on the planning committee for PPAI’s North American Leadership Conference and was a long-time participant and past presenter at the PPAI Women’s Leadership Conference.

She was also a tireless volunteer for Promotional Products Professionals of Canada (PPPC) serving on its board of directors from 2014 to 2017. In addition, she was the inspiration behind the unforgettable axe throwing team-building event at PPPC’s National Convention, and the driving force behind the Supplier/Distributor Diversity panel and securing keynote speaker Dave Holt. In addition, Plummer was a major proponent of the annual PPPC Women’s Empowerment Event and was instrumental in making that event successful for seven consecutive years.

In a statement, the family remembered Plummer as one who gave more than she took, and was active in the promotional products industry and in her community. They said they liked to joke that there was never a sign-up sheet she said ‘no’ to. “She was a strong proponent of education and professional development and, having raised three strong daughters, obviously women’s leadership. She had an outsized impact on the lives of those she touched; her smile and laughter made this world a brighter place,” the statement said.

“Ros loved her family and friends fiercely and they loved her back with that same intensity. A proud Scottish woman, she was a force to be reckoned with. She lives on in the strength she passed on to her three daughters, the memories that she created with her best friend David, and in the joy and laughter that she shared with her mother, Rose, and sister, Sharon.” Plummer is survived by her husband, daughters Kate, Nicola and Gillian; her mother and her sister.

In her honor, the family makes the following request on her behalf: “In her memory, please read a good book, open a great wine and make a toast to those you love.” In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Plummer’s memory to two organizations that held a very special place in her heart: the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada at http://support.heartandstroke.ca/goto/RosPlummer, and Peacebuilders International at http://peacebuilders.ca/donate/.
