PPAI has welcomed Veronica Bailon to the public affairs team as its new member engagement manager. In her new role, Bailon will support the Association’s committees and action groups, oversee the recognition and celebration of PPAI’s awards and recognition program, and be involved in Association governance initiatives.
For the past 12 years, Bailon’s career has focused on association management and volunteer engagement. Prior to joining PPAI, she worked for the Southern Gas Association, a large, regional trade association for the natural gas industry. There, she was responsible for volunteer and committee engagement, marketing and communications, event planning and organizational development. Her background also includes time in radio and auto insurance.
Speaking to PPB on what attracted her to her new position at the Association, says, “I look forward to helping individuals grow professionally through volunteer work, while ensuring they receive a wealth of recognition for their hard work. My initial objectives are to learn what PPAI is already doing to partner with members to deliver great work and receive recognition for it. I’m also looking for opportunities to enhance the volunteer experience, helping them feel more connected to their industry and their industry peers.”
Outside of the office, Bailon enjoys spending time with her husband and children. “We’re always looking for new things to do or explore,” she says. “I also love music, dancing, festivals and visiting Target stores across the Dallas-Fort Worth area—ha ha!”
