Exhibitors, sponsors and advertisers at The PPAI Expo 2016 must attain Product Safety Aware status by January 7. The Association’s Product Safety Awareness (PSA) Program, which was introduced during The PPAI Expo 2014 General Session and went into effect at Expo East 2015, is designed to foster an industry-wide commitment and culture where companies are not only aware of product safety but engaged in the discussion.
As part of the PSA program, every member company wanting to gain access to the PPAI marketplace—as a sponsor, advertiser, trade-show exhibitor, etc.—regardless of membership category, is required to complete a minimum of four hours of product safety education. For a company to attain Product Safety Aware status, it must designate a roster employee to serve as a Product Safety Ambassador. The employee must complete four hours of product safety education in these required programs plus one elective course:
- Product Safety Basics
- Prop 65 and State Regulations
- Undue Influence Training
The elective course can be selected from an approved list or any live program that is listed as a qualified training on PPAI’s Corporate Responsibility Education webpage.
There is currently no cost for companies to attain Product Safety Aware status. Learn more about the PSA program and how to attain Product Safety Aware status on PPAI’s website at www.ppai.org/productsafety.
