California-based promo apparel supplier Tri-Mountain (PPAI 134335, S11) abruptly announced on Aug. 16 that it would be closing its doors in just a few weeks.

After almost 30 years in business, the company’s sudden end came as a shock to many in the industry, and several PPAI members posted comments expressing their sadness to see the company go and praising its products and customer service.

Numerous Tri-Mountain products have been featured in PPAI editors’ picks over the years. Its top lines included the eponymous Tri-Mountain label, Lilac Bloom womenswear and the Tri-Mountain Gold, Performance and Racewear imprints.

Here are a handful of the company’s garments that hit the mark and earned our editors’ approval through the years, from safety apparel to uniforms to lifestyle gear:

Sleek Safety Shirts

The Lynette Women’s Crossover Wrap Cardigan by Lilac Bloom offered a unique and stylish choice somewhere between a poncho and a blanket that offered cozy comfort and range of motion—perfect for employees working a seasonal event. Made from a tri-blend French Terry knit of polyester, rayon and spandex, the wrap featured a snap and button corner closures and welt pockets.

Denim Never Dies

A denim jacket is a uniform staple for a reason, and the Tahoe shacket (cross between a shirt and a jacket) provided warmth in casual workwear style. The 100% cotton stone-washed shirt-came lined with midweight, anti-pilling fleece and featured two chest pockets with buttoned flaps.

Athleisure Apparel

From Silicon Valley techpreneur style to outdoor gear, athleisure wear has been climbing in popularity since the turn of this century. The Lacey Vest, available in both men’s and women’s cuts, offered a stylish look as well as protection from the elements with its windproof and water-resistant quilted nylon shell. Details included two zippered pockets, a drawcord hem, side panels and a slight drop-tail hem.
