Roger Burnett, CAS, president of the Michigan Promotional Professionals Association’s (MiPPA) board of directors, has appointed Goldstar Pen’s Parker Melvin to fulfill the open seat on the MiPPA board of directors.
W. Parker Melvin, Jr. spent eight years as a distributor in the Chicago area before joining Goldstar in 2017 as the Midwest Regional Sales Manager. Prior to entering the promotional products industry, Melvin had a successful career in higher education that included teaching, talent recruitment, marketing and administration.
Melvin says, “Having worked as both distributor and supplier in our industry, I feel that I have much to offer in advancing MiPPA’s mission of providing fun experiences and educational exchanges to help build promotional professionals and increase industry awareness. I am very passionate
about the future of our industry and wish to contribute to its success in every way that I can.”
The opening on the board is the result of the resignation of Rachel Olson, who left the industry to pursue a career in real estate. Burnett says, “We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Rachel for her passionate contributions to our association. She is a person who always followed up and was an incredible board member. We wish her the best in her new career.”
Olson served as the chair of the successful 2019 TOM Show and on the executive committee as secretary. Glenn Miotke will serve Olson’s remaining term as the board secretary.
