The Michigan Promotional Professionals Association (MiPPA) hosted 56 state lawmakers and staff members on March 2 for a breakfast in the Anderson House of Representatives Building in Lansing. MiPPA volunteers—Jane Mitchell of Jungle Jane Promotions, Tony Shereda of QMI Group, David Szidik of Proforma Image Builders and Ashley Grenell of alphabroderPrime Line—had visited the offices of each state senator and representative to personally deliver invitations to the breakfast.
MiPPA’s Legislative Education Action Day (LEAD) welcomed lawmakers and staff with a catered breakfast buffet and promotional products donated by Innovative Line, Cloth Promotions, GoldstarPens, Tekweld, Warwick Publishing and Bag Makers, Inc. Screens set up throughout the room scrolled continuously through facts and information on the history and effectiveness of promotional products and the economic impact of the industry to the state of Michigan.
MiPPA President Eric Pehrson, MASI, welcomed the guests and introduced MiPPA Executive Director, Paul Kiewiet, MAS+, who shared additional details on the size and scope of the industry, the need for small business friendly policies and the ability of the media to deliver important messages to the right audience at the right time.
MiPPA’s LEAD Lansing program is an annual event the regional association started in 2015. After a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic, this year’s event featured the largest attendance ever.
