Kristina Valdez has joined PPAI as the Association’s new associate editor. A recent graduate of Baylor University, her responsibilities include writing for PPB with a primary focus on the upcoming launch of PPAI’s new podcast.
PPB sat down with Valdez to learn more about the Association’s newest team member.
PPB What did you do before joining PPAI?
Kristina Valdez: While at Baylor, I interned at KWBU-FM in Waco, where I held an editorial role, and at D Magazine Partners, where I wrote for its special interest publications D Weddings and D Home. I also held editorial positions at university publications The Bundle Magazine and The Baylor Lariat. I was also the social media specialist for a local nonprofit in Waco called Talitha Koum Institute.
PPB What attracted you to your new position within the Association?
Valdez: I was attracted by the opportunity to develop podcasts that would be both useful and enjoyable for anyone in this industry who listens in.
PPB Outside of PPAI, what are your interests?
Valdez: I enjoy Pinterest and online shopping. I also like to turn in overdue library books, laugh with my younger brothers and sneak candy into movie theaters.
