The Promotional Products Professionals of Canada’s (PPPC) 2016 National Convention at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Ontario, wraps up Friday after a week of professional development, trade-show and networking opportunities. The annual convention, now in its 60th year, has drawn attendees from across Canada and the U.S.

“While our country is experiencing some pockets of economic downturn, there is no sign of anything but energy and enthusiasm at this year’s conference,” says Jae M. Rang, MAS, past chair of the PPPC and CEO and founder of Oakville, Ontario distributor Jae Associates Ltd. “Way more people than had registered showed up for each education session and the opening night cocktail event, Battle of the Bands, was electric.”

Wednesday night, the PPPC welcomed more than 600 guests to the 36th Annual Image Awards Ceremony. The awards recognized the work and accomplishments of member companies and industry professionals. During the evening, the association inducted Mark Wingrove, CAS, regional sales manager for BIC Graphic Canada, into its Hall of Fame.

“About 600 members of our family were outrageously enthusiastic for our Hall of Fame inductee, Mark Wingrove, and our many other deserving winners at Awards Night,” says Rang. “We always say we attend for the trade show—and the show floor is surely buzzing—but it’s those other events that help bring us closer together. We’re setting the stage for a phenomenal year.”
