Nicole Parker, vice president of Overland Park, Kansas-based workwear brand and promotional products supplier DRI DUCK (PPAI 318801), is joining new Amazon Prime reality TV series The Social Movement. Parker will join 40 thought leaders, entrepreneurs and investors to address socio-economic issues impacting the planet including weather-related events, access to affordable health care, wage inequality and education gaps.

The Social Movement, created and produced by Chris LaVoie, will follow four teams tasked with a unique socio-economic problem to solve. Each will be paired with a nonprofit organization to create a business strategy that will solve, not just help, the issue. The finale will be filmed in July in Montréal and released in 2020 as a six-part series.

“I’m excited to collaborate with so many talented people with diverse backgrounds in this challenge,” says Parker. “Through this creative and potentially world-changing endeavor, I’m hopeful that we’ll bring home the win for the good of humanity.”

Parker will serve under team lead and CMO of Operation Barbeque Relief (OBR), David Marks. OBR is a Kansas City-based organization that has coupled its love for cooking BBQ with a passion for helping feed people in times of need. The team travels to areas struck by adverse weather and feeds first responders, displaced citizens and anyone else affected by the natural disaster.
