The British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA) has announced that Phil Goodman has stepped into the role of CEO.
- BPMA is a trade association serving the promotional products community in the United Kingdom.
- Goodman will be replacing Carey Trevill, who took over as CEO in February 2020 and guided BPMA through the COVID-19 pandemic. Trevill announced she would be stepping down earlier this year.
“We believe in Phil we have secured the services of an industry professional with the capabilities to drive our Association and industry forward,” says Hayden Willetts, chair of BPMA’s board of directors. “Phil brings to the role many years of experience from managing and running successful full-service marketing agencies and several other businesses.”
Vision For The Future
Goodman’s most notable experience in the promo world is the 16 years that he spent as CEO of Bandwidth, which offers client services in the digital customer experience sphere, a role he held until 2019. He has largely worked in the investment space in the years since.
- The next few months will see Goodman outlining his vision to the board for what he believes the near and long-term future looks like for BPMA.
“I am extremely proud to be joining BPMA as CEO,” says Goodman. “It is an interesting time for our industry as we continue to make progress in areas such as sustainability and compliance. This challenge really appeals to me, and I look forward to working with the board to continue to improve standards, and increase the profile of the BPMA, both in our industry and beyond.
“I look forward to meeting the members in due course and would like to express my thanks to Carey for her help during our handover.”
Willetts also took the opportunity to thank Trevill for the time she served BMPA as CEO.
“On behalf of the BPMA board and the wider membership, I would like to thank Carey Trevill, who has guided and led the BPMA through the challenging times of the last four years. She leaves the Association with far stronger foundations and a clearer strategic direction for our new CEO to build up on with the rest of the secretariat that are in place.”
