VOM-400x[11][5]

This month, PPAI recognizes Andrew Spellman, vice president of corporate channels at supplier Victorinox Swiss Army, Inc. as March’s PPB Volunteer of the Month. The Association’s PPB Volunteer of the Month recognition celebrates individuals who have dedicated their time to fulfilling the charge of a committee, advisory group, work group or task force on which they serve.

Spellman serves on the Awards & Recognition Committee and was nominated by Carol Gauger, PPAI director of member engagement, and Christina Sanders, PPAI member engagement coordinator.

“Andrew has tirelessly participated in multiple selection panels,” says Gauger. “Each time he does his homework, participates in the call and works collaboratively to assist in the selection for a variety of awards—PPAI Woman of Achievement, PPAI Legislator of the Year, PPAI H. Ted Olson Humanitarian Award and PPAI Regional Volunteer of the Year. During his service on the Awards & Recognition Committee, Andrew has participated in judging for the PPAI Pyramid, PPAI Image and PPAI Technology awards. He is committed to delivering solid winners in each area he judges.”

Sanders adds, “The commitment to these processes demonstrates a high level of integrity. He takes each process seriously and does not ‘mail it in.’ As the Awards & Recognition Committee works through program updates, Andrew is a solid contributor. He prepares as needed in advance of each call and participates actively in discussions to ensure that the integrity of the awards programs is maintained and works to ensure the inclusive culture of the programs as well.”

The Association’s Awards & Recognition Committee reviews all recognition categories to determine relevance in the changing marketplace, makes recommendations for revisions, updates and makes additions to PPAI award categories, content, eligibility and judging criteria on an annual basis. New awards and recognition concepts recommended by other committees, advisory groups, task forces or members are reviewed on a collaborative basis.

The PPAI Awards and Recognition Program celebrates creative excellence throughout the promotional products industry. With awards recognizing everything from Distinguished Service and Hall of Fame to great websites, outstanding customer service and everything in between, PPAI award winners embody excellence.
