To help you learn about legislative advocacy, PPAI provides this easy-to-follow, easy-to-understand video to help you become a voice for the promotional products industry and an example to industry colleagues.

August Recess Advocacy

Get the story of your meeting published by PPAI! 

Take this opportunity to meet with your member of Congress in their district!

Step 1: Who represents you?
Use PPAI’s advocacy tools to find your member of Congress.

Step 2: Find contact information.
Find your legislator’s district address and contact information through the link above.

Step 3: Send an email or give them a call.
Use the templates to send an email to your legislator’s scheduler or call their district office.

Step 4: Confirm your meeting a week prior with the legislator's scheduler.

Step 5: Review the Promotional Products position statement and prepare for your meeting.

*If you are conducting a factory visit, use the guide to help with your tour: Tips For A Successful Factory Tour 

Step 6: Print copies of the positional statements to leave at the meeting.

Step 7: Plan to bring a sample of promotional products with you to your meeting
*Note: to abide with federal regulations, do not exceed the $10 gift limit with your items.

Step 8: Attend your meeting.
Be early and plan to wait. Have a staff member take a photo of you with the member of Congress.

Step 9: Send a thank you note to the member of Congress, the scheduler and any other staff you met with.

FINAL STEP:
It is important that PPAI capture what you talked about during your meeting. Send an email update to Anne Stone.
