Take Action California Lawmakers Target Promotional Products
A California Senate Bills Seeks To Limit Gifts To Doctors
Join us in taking action against California Senate Bill 790. This bill would prohibit pharmaceutical companies from offering or giving gifts to healthcare providers.
While the bill appears to be intended to restrict pharmaceutical companies providing speaking fees and meals to medical professionals, it would limit gifts as well. Logoed items of relatively modest value should not be perceived as gifts that would unduly influence professional behavior. Rather they are tangible forms of advertising that will keep the brand name in front of the recipient over time, reinforcing the advertising message with each use. Tell your representatives that this bill will hurt the promotional products industry and ask them to vote no on SB 790.

Take Action Proposed Border Adjustment Tax - Bad For The Promotional Products Industry
The U.S. House Republican tax reform proposal includes a recommendation to adopt a Border Adjustment Tax (BAT). The BAT poses a discriminatory tax on all imported products—including promotional products. This tax will significantly hurt American consumers and the nation’s largest employers by increasing the cost of everyday products. The BAT, which would function as a national sales tax, could drive the unemployment rate back to the 2010 highs in the aftermath of the financial crisis.
