Tom Goos, MAS
Chair of the Board

Tom Goos, MAS is the President of Image Source, a leading promotional product agency. A 19 year industry veteran, Tom's key responsibilities are providing strategic direction, overseeing daily operations and financials as well as major client relations and supplier partnerships.

Tom is an Executive-in-Residence at the University of Washington Bothell School of Business where he is a guest speaker, mentor and advisor to undergraduate and MBA students. He is Chair of PPAI's Government Relations and Action Group. Tom was recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal's award program, 40 Under Forty, as one of the top 40 dynamic leaders and entrepreneurs. He is a former two-term president of the Northwest Promotional Marketing Association (NWPMA).

Tom has a B.A. in Marketing and Management from the University of Washington. He is a passionate endurance athlete who competes in triathlon, duathlon as well as cycling and running events. His top accomplishment to date was competing for Team USA in a duathlon World Championship in Gijon, Spain. Tom's passion for real estate investing and cars is only rivaled by his tenacity for any competitive game or sport. In his spare time, you will find him enjoying family time with his wife and son in the sunshine of Crescent Bar Washington.


Mary Jo Tomasini, MAS
Incoming Chair
of the Board

Mary Jo founded Competitive Edge in 1993 working alone in a store basement. Now, over 20 years later, she has 25 employees working in an office building overlooking Lake Michigan. Mary Jo’s success is driven by her belief in going above and beyond customer expectations to deliver incredible levels of service.

Prior to being elected to the PPAI Board of Directors in 2014, Mary Jo served on the PPAI Public Relations committee, and in 2015 she served on the Certification Committee. She currently serves on GRAC (Government Relations Advisory Committee) and is a Michigan delegate for LEAD (Legislative Education Action Day).

In addition to being a successful business person, Mary Jo still finds time for volunteer work. She currently serves as Chair of the Lake Michigan College Board of Trustees. Her desire and dedication to give back to the community is evident as she offers her services and expertise to a long list of organizations that include United Way, Junior Achievement and Hospice.

Mary Jo lives in St. Joseph, Michigan with her husband and number one fan, Fred. 


Rick Brenner, MAS+
Immediate Past Chair of the Board

Rick Brenner, MAS+ is president of top 40 supplier Prime Resources. A staunch proponent of product safety and responsible sourcing in the promotional products industry, Brenner is a leading voice at industry conferences and as an advocate for the industry. Mr. Brenner has been a member of PPAI's Product Responsibility Action Group (PRAG) since its inception and has co-chaired PPAI's Product Safety Summit in each of the past four years. He is a founding board member of QCA - the Quality Certification Alliance - serves as chair of QCA's compliance committee and is a member of QCA's governing council. Brenner also serves the industry through his role as Vice President of ICPHSO - the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization and through his industry blog at

Rick Brenner holds a BS in finance from Skidmore College and lives in Scarsdale, NY with his very supportive family.
