PPAI Board Suspends Distributor-Hosted Buyer Initiative, June 23, 2011
This week, the Board of Directors for Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) announced it will suspend the introduction of The PPAI Expo Distributor-Hosted Buyer initiative. The initiative was approved by the board in mid-March 2011, and communications to members and programs to educate them about it began in early April.
“PPAI is a member-driven organization, and based on feedback from our member-owners, the board has reversed its decision to introduce a Distributor-Hosted Buyer initiative at The PPAI Expo 2012,” says Eric Ekstrand, MAS, PPAI chairman. “Staff has been directed to revisit the program and solicit additional member input.”
PPAI President and CEO Steve Slagle, CAE, adds, “Our board clearly made the right decision. It’s never a bad idea to pause, evaluate and see if a decision is the right one, at the right time, for the right reasons.”
