Irving, Texas, (June 4, 2010) Promotional Products Association International (PPAI)

has pledged a $10,000 challenge gift to the PPEF Named Scholarship in memory of President Emeritus H. Ted Olson, MAS, who retired as PPAI‟s president in 1996 after 17 years. PPAI will match all funds up to $10,000 made by those wishing to honor Olson who passed away on April 28, 2010.

The pledge is a challenge to industry leaders to also contribute to the memorial scholarship established to honor Olson who was PPAI‟s president from 1979 until his retirement in 1996.

"Ted had a remarkable „second‟ career with PPAI," said Steve Slagle, CAE, PPAI CEO and president. "But as important, he spent a lifetime of humanitarian service to countless charitable, community and service organizations. The PPEF was one organization he encouraged and fostered from its origins."

"Ted loved PPAI, the industry and the many, many people he had a chance to work and serve with during his tenure as president," said Kathleen Olson. "I know he would be very pleased to be remembered in this fashion and having his name associated with an organization whose purpose he supported wholeheartedly."

PPEF Named Scholarships are established to ensure long-term memorials that endure over several years to assist students in pursuing their college educations.

Contributions to the scholarship funds may be made to PPEF, 3125 Skyway Circle North, Irving, Texas 75038 or by going to www.ppef.us, with a notation for the contributions to be directed to H. Ted Olson.

PPEF was founded to recognize and encourage scholastic ability and academic performance among promotional products industry employees and their children. Since its inception in 1989, PPEF has awarded approximately $742,000 in financial assistance.
