The PPAI Expo 2012 Post Show Review

IRVING, Tex. (January 24, 2012) – Promotional Products Association International (PPAI; ppai.org), the not-for-profit association for more than 10,000 member companies of the $16.5 billion promotional products industry, today presented The PPAI Expo 2012 round up. North America’s largest international promotional products tradeshow, The PPAI Expo held January 2-6, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada, brought 10,178* distributors from 3,800 companies together under one roof for the five-day event. The PPAI Expo featured more than 1,340 exhibiting companies presenting more than 100,000 products occupying 1,000,000 square feet of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, the fifth largest convention center in the U.S. With a total of more than 18,350 participants the overall non-gaming economic impact of The PPAI Expo 2012 is estimated at $19,500,000 by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. The PPAI Expo 2013 will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, January 14-18, 2013.

"Globally speaking, The PPAI Expo is the best show for the promotional products industry to bring its products and services to market every year," said Paul Bellantone, CAE, president and CEO of PPAI. "Expo is truly the industry’s show, no other event delivers a higher quality of business engagement with well-qualified attendees, in one place at one time. The optimism and level of participation at this year’s show proves that the promotional products industry is resilient and well-positioned for renewed growth."

Serving as the 2012 launch pad for both suppliers and distributors, The PPAI Expo provided a forum for all to connect, experience new products, network and conduct strategic business meetings. Engaging all stakeholders in one venue, it remains the single most important event of the year for the promotional products industry worldwide. As in years past, Expo attracted many new and innovative suppliers in addition to industry leaders such as Logomark, Gemline, Prime Resources, Leed’s, BIC/Norwood and SanMar.

The true value and quality of The PPAI Expo was expressed best by those in attendance.

The PPAI Expo = Optimism: Attendees Speak For Themselves

"The 2012 PPAI Expo was a smash hit! We had a great show this year meeting with the top distributor principals and their sales teams, and we are confident that will turn into increased sales for our company in 2012. Great job and thank you to PPAI," remarked Brett F. Hersh, president of Admints & Zagabor. "So many people get caught up with the numbers of people registered. We measure our show success by the quality of distributors that attend our meetings and stop by our booth and the resulting conversations we have about real business opportunities and sales. Quite frankly, scans are irrelevant. Who cares if a bunch of part-time, sample-grabbing distributors fill the aisles and artificially make us feel like it was busy?"

"The PPAI Expo attracts the best and brightest from across the promotional products industry. We relish the opportunity to meet with such individuals and learn as much as we can from them," blogged Inkhead Promotional Products.

"Thank you for the fabulous „glad to be here‟ moment this afternoon," posted Michele Jennrich of Howard Miller. "John Foley was one of the best speakers I have ever heard and did a great job of relating to our industry."

"It will literally take three days to walk the 20+ miles of booths with new and improved apparel and promotional items," posted Thread2Head.com.

"This is the best show in the country, the best one of the year and we‟re thrilled to be here," remarked Sean Johnston of Proforma Johnston. "We saw a lot of really interesting stuff today, learned a lot of very interesting things from one speaker, in particular, about „What is a brand?‟ …a brand is a promise, a brand is a collection of ideas held by your customers, and I think we are much better prepared to work on that with you having been here at The PPAI Expo 2012."

"What happens in Vegas? Business!," posted Notes, Inc. "…love tradeshows, especially the positive energy at The PPAI Expo, …delighted to see distributors and friends, excited about our new products for 2012, including calendars…"

"Great time at The PPAI Expo! Rosalie Marcus gave a fantastic and informative presentation," posted Divots Branding.

"Great show this year!," posted National Premium. "We second that!," posted Prime Line.

"We were at the Promo Kitchen launch party at the House Of Blues [Las Vegas]…the conversations we were having seemed to have a very different tone than they‟ve had in years past and there really seemed to be this real sense of optimism in the air. People were really excited about 2012…," said Mark Graham of Promo Kitchen.

"Our thanks to PPAI for a great Expo this year! We found the enthusiasm and focus of the distributors who visited our booth and their interest in our new products to be excellent!," posted Jornik, Inc.
