Social media—it’s the biggest technology to hit the business world since "website." But, the sudden swell of online networking channels has left many wondering how it all works, which is why PPAI created PPAI Social Media Launchpad!, a social networking certificate program that covers the ins, outs and how-tos of the web’s most popular and influential social media platforms. 

Each session is led by Sida Li, the Social Media Director at fishbat, a digital marketing agency. He has managed social media accounts for brands in multiple industries, including baked goods, office products, convenience stores, beauty products, apparel makers, jewelers and tourism boards. His other hobbies include blogging and maintaining his YouTube channel.

PPAI Social Media Launchpad! 101 Overview (1.5 CAS point per session):

  • First Session: The World of Social Media and How It Works in The Promotional Products Industry
    This eye-opening session will delve into the specifics of social media, how it is used in the promotional products industry, and the benefits of adding social media platforms to your business. Showcasing case studies from industry suppliers and distributors, we’ll give you the details on how people in the industry are utilizing social media for their business, what networks they are on, and personal vs. professional choices.
  • Second Session: A Comprehensive Guide to Facebook
    The ultimate “how to” guide for using one of the most popular social media platforms. The session will begin with the basics (like how to create a personal profile, group and brand page) then move on to the more advanced features (disseminating news feeds, managing brand pages and placing Facebook ads). The second part of the session will cover tips, tricks and tools for using Facebook in a professional universe, providing case studies from suppliers and distributors.
  • Third Session: A Comprehensive Guide to Twitter and LinkedIn
    In this session, we will take a look at Twitter and LinkedIn and the benefits of these widely-used platforms for you and your business. We’ll start with the basics of how to create a profile for each platform, followed by a discussion on navigating through each site and proper etiquette use for communicating with users. Finally, we’ll cover the tactics for using each platform in the professional world, and provide case studies from suppliers and distributors.
  • Fourth Session: The Best of the Rest and Session Overview
    This final session will provide insight on other popular social media platforms— Youtube, Google+, Pintrest, Foursquare, Tumblr and Instagram—and the benefits each can have on you and your business. Plus, we will discuss relevant current events and news that may have arisen since the previous 3 sessions.

Continuing on the foundations established with the Social Media Launchpad! 101 series, this three-part live webinar program to help take your social media marketing to the next level. Topics include: social media analytic tools, integrating your social media platforms, location-based tools such as Foursquare to expand your online presence.

  • First Session: Creating An ROI Model That Works
    Here is the big question most people have- how can I make money using social media? In this session, we will look at ways to create metrics using either free or subscription tools that allow you to see just how much a company has grown using social media.
  • Second Session: Managing, Monitoring and Moderating Your Social Media Content
    Who should be managing your social media accounts? What tools should you use to monitor to listen better, respond faster, and speak to the right audience? This course will cover the tactics behind creating an efficient process behind managing your social media accounts. Additionally, there are plenty of tools in social media that help make your experiences in social media less overwhelming. Using a variety of free or near free APIs, like HootSuite, Seesmic, Tweetdeck and Facebook’s native post scheduler, Sida Li will show you how to have social media be an exciting part of your day, not an all day burden or distraction.
  • Third Session: The Changing Face of Social Media: What’s new in all your social networks?
    Social media networks can change at the blink of an eye. This course will guide you through the major changes at the top social networks. You will learn how to optimize the latest changes and make them work for your business rather than paralyzing you into in action.
