Building on the existing PPAI certification designations: Certified Advertising Specialist (CAS) and Master Advertising Specialist (MAS) programs, PPAI‘s Professional Development Department is excited to introduce two new industry designations: the introductory Trained Advertising Specialist (TAS) certificate program, is designed for those early in their careers, and the advanced Master Advertising Specialist Plus (MAS+) certification program, is for experienced industry veterans. The PPAI certification program is an all-inclusive industry-wide program and does not require membership. Associated certification costs for both members and nonmembers are the lowest in the industry.
The Master Advertising Specialist (MAS) and Certified Advertising Specialist (CAS) are the promotional products industry's professional designations. Individuals with MAS/CAS Certification are seen as industry leaders—those who have attained a higher standard of professionalism, knowledge and experience. MAS/CAS certification is acquired through a combination of: active employment in the industry, education, industry contributions and the successful demonstration of expertise. Certification is maintained through continuing education to ensure current knowledge and leading-edge professional skills.

The PPAI Professional Development Certification Program uses an outside, independent professional testing service for preparing, scoring, and safeguarding questions/results in the examination process.
Q: What is my PIN number?
A: Each company has a PPAI number, but your PIN is your individual number. This is what we use to track your transcript and education credits. To lookup your PIN, follow the instructions to View Your Transcript—the PIN will appear at the top of the page. Click here for PIN FAQ.
Q. How do I access my Certification Transcript?
A: To access your current transcript online, login to the PPAI.org website and select View Certification Transcript on your MY ACCOUNT page. Your UPIC/PPAI username is your email address on file, and since passwords are randomly generated we don't have access to it. If you don't know your password, click on 'Forgot Password' on the login page and your password will be reset. Q. How do I earn credit toward earning my PPAI industry cetification?
A: We know you're busy. The PPAI Certification Program has been designed to work with your schedule, and with opportunities to earn credit through live and online events, your certification desgination can be completed at your own pace. There are a number of ways you can earn education credits towards your certification:
- PPAI Live Events: The PPAI Expo, EXPO East, Women's Leadership Conference, North American Leadership Conference, Technology Summit and Product Responsibility Summit
- Online Learning: we offer live streaming sessions and a library of on-demand content you can view at your convenience
- Regional Associations: earn credit for education offered at regional events around the country
- Third-party opportunities: In addition to preapproved options, you are welcome to request credit for classes, seminars and books that are industry-relevant and applicable to your business. Processing fees apply.

Q: Why are credits from a PPAI Live Event missing from my transcript?
A: Sometimes users have more than one profile in our database, and your credit could be listed on another account under your name. It’s also possible that your badge was not scanned at the time of this event. In any case, just email us details at email@example.com and we’ll work with you to resolve the issue.
Q: Why are credits from a Regional Association Event missing from my transcript?
A: Sometimes users have more than one profile in our datase. It's also possible that the attendance roster for that event was transcribed incorrectly or not submitted to PPAI by the Regional Association. First, make sure to contact your Regional Association to ensure they were approved to offer PPAI Certification Credits, and also submitted an attendance roster to PPAI following the event.
Q: How do I get credit for the PPAI webinar I viewed, or PPAI session I attended?
A: After PPAI live sessions, PPAI will process credits based on attendee lists or badge scans following the event. This may take a few weeks after the event to occur. If you do not see the credit applied to your transcript, simply contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we will work to investigate the issue.
All PPAI offered webinars should have a pop-up survey that will automatically upload your education credits once complete. If you experience any issues, to obtain credits, log into the PPAI.org website and under Certification Forms submit a Request Credit for Education Course form. You may also contact email@example.com to let us know about the issue you are experiencing.
Q: Can I get cerification credit for non-PPAI events?
A: When you participate in PPAI events and webinars, credit is preapproved. For third-party events you may request MAS/CAS credit for your participation—you’ll just need to submit the appropriate form (found on your MY ACCOUNT page) and request that we evaluate the material. A processing fee will apply.
Q: Why is there a fee to request credit for third-party events and books?
A: When you request credit for material that isn’t preapproved, PPAI staff has to evaluate it to determine what credit can be given. We are a not-for-profit organization, and processing fees help to offset the administrative costs associated with the process.
