Looking for an individual with a drive to learn, strong organizational skills and willingness to try new things. The Professional Development Specialist administers, coordinates, and assists with education events and programs and provides overall support to the Professional Development team to provide great member value and help achieve projected program growth.

            Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  1. Oversee live event project plans including working with department staff to manage and assure deliverables are realized.
  2. Manage the effective communications with subject matter experts, professional speakers, members, volunteer groups and internal staff.
  3. Assist in coordinating, delivering and implementing live event education curriculum, training materials and educational programs.
  4. Prepare work orders and event specifications for hotel, audiovisual companies, decorators, tour operators and other contractors.
  5. Assist with event logistics as requested, such as room assignments, equipment, food/beverage, speaker management, web content and social events.
  6. Oversee the development, maintenance and updating of event run of show schedules and timelines.
  7. Track the budgets, monitor revenues and expenditures and reconcile receipts with accounting records as needed and research discrepancies in the professional development team budget.
  8. Oversight responsibility for managing registration for live events through CVENT for attendees.
  9. Responsible for education session evaluation processes for education conferences.

10. Assist with sourcing, selecting and coordinating product donations and sponsorships for education conferences.

 Secondary Responsibilities

  1. Provide general administrative support and report generation for the Professional Development department as needed or directed.
  2. Create and distribute meeting materials based on approved timelines and budget parameters.
  3. Strong track record of success working productively on multiple projects/events simultaneously.
  4. Strong organizational skills, commitment to quality and attention to detail.
  5. Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions; probes resources for answers; can see hidden problems; performs analysis effectively; looks beyond the obvious to seek additional solutions.
  6. Works independently and in a group format.
  7. Complete billing tasks as needed: invoicing individuals and member companies, processing payments, and coordinating billing issues with internal accounting department.
